March 2011 Calendar and Newsletter
Happy March :)
Hello to all the parents of OCDS! Thank you for all your incredible support.
There are a lot of fun things going on in March and we hope to see you all involved.
As you will see, there are two calendars. One is for the preschool and the other is for the toddlers’ program.
The Toddler program is broken down into a daily event Monday thru Friday. Monday is always cooking day. Tuesday and Thursday is fine motor skills. Wednesday the toddlers work with numbers, colors, blocks, etc. Manipulatives help with reasoning skills. And Friday is messy day. Please make sure you put your child in clothes that can get dirty and also please bring a change of clothes.
The whole school will be doing hat day on Monday the 7th so please have your child wear his or hers favorite or funniest hat!
Next week we have two events for both the parents and the children of OCDS. Wednesday will be a Potty Party by Pull ups. Not only will there be free stuff and food but hopefully we can encourage our little ones to use the potty. Please sign up at the front desk.
Also we will have story time with Moma Carla on Thursday and she will be providing applications for Philadelphia Public Library and an array of books to take home. Again please sign up at the front desk.
We are also having a parent meeting towards the end of the month so please help make OCDS the best school by being a part of the parent group :) I am excited to see all the great ideas that you all can think of! Sign up sheet at the front desk too.
For Preschool Parents-
1. We will start brushing our teeth after lunch starting next week so please provide your preschooler with a toothbrush so that he or she can practice good hygiene.
2. Please do not forget your daily reports. Miss Suzie takes a lot of time to write each one so please pick it up before you leave.
3. Backpack, Backpack Backpack! Please have your child bring in a backpack. Then we can put all the wonderful work that they do everyday in there. Also it helps minimize things becoming lost. I know this is a concern for all of you and it is for me too. So please provide a backpack to help keep all of your child’s things together.
Thank you so much
